I can’t sleep, I can’t sleep, I can’t sleep!!! Pretty, Pretty, Pretty is coming to our Texas home today!!! Slow is ecstatic, and I can’t wait, either!! Kill the fatted calf, batten down the hatches, roll out the red carpet, zippity doo dah, zippity doo yay, my, oh, my what a wonderful day! Plenty of sunshine headin’ our way, zippity doo dah, zippity doo yay!! Get that bluebird off my shoulder – I’ve got the Bluebird of Happiness coming to our house today so you can keep your old regular bluebird!
Let’s do a readiness check for Slow. Clean bathrooms. Check. Dust all furniture and pictures. Check. Vacuum. Vacuum? Vacuum? Hello. Earth to Slow. Drag out the old noise machine and get with the program around here, missy. Oh, well, sure. Later is fine while what did you just say? I’m going WHERE this morning? To the GROOMERS? You know, I don’t like going to the Groomers in Texas. I LOVE Mary in South Carolina, and she tolerates me better than any other groomer in the world. Of course, I want Pretty to give me lots of kisses. Oh, for God’s sake. I’ll go. I’ll go. I’ll go, but I won’t like it. Sigh. The things we do for love.
Fresh flowers. Check. Poor old Slow. You should have seen her making the little arrangement from some flowers she got at Brookshire Brothers last night. Artistic she’s not, and her budget for cut flowers must be tragically low, too. Tell yourself it’s the thought that counts, Slow. Maybe PPP will say they’re beautiful just to be kind. She’s like that.
Happy Days are here again. Forget your troubles, come on, be happy. The skies are always blue again. This is my favorite song from Glee last night and so appropriate for my mood. I voted for this Kurt – Rachel duet as my Favorite from the show last night. It came in second behind the Mercedes – Sentana hot number. But I digress.
I think I’ll take a little nap before my trip to the Groomer’s. It’s so hard getting them trained to moi. I’ll try to write more later, unless Pretty has other ideas. I can tell you that activities will pick up around here when that firecracker shows up. None of this sitting on the porch rocking and wasting time for us while Pretty is here. Nosirree, you can turn that notch up a level. Dull is a distant memory at our house on Worsham Street for a few days. Yes, I definitely need to grab a few zzzzz’s while I can.
