Well, Olympics Sports Fans, we appear to be on the final laps and coming down the home stretch for these London Summer Games and they’ve been exciting for the fans in the bleacher seats at Casa de Canterbury. Yessiree, Pretty and the Pack and the old woman Slow have given their opinions on everything from the Pathletes to the Parthenon and thoroughly critiqued each event they watched. We’ve definitely had the view from the cheap seats, but that hasn’t dampened our Olympic enthusiasm. We’ve tried to be impartial and root for another country’s team whenever Team USA was out of the race and we found plenty of stories from around the world that made us more aware of what we share outside our borders. Geez Louise. Is there anything new under the sun? I doubt it.
But we do love us some women who won the Gold Medal for the good ol’ US of A in the 4×100 Meter Relay and it was a Big Deal for several reasons including we hadn’t won it since 1996 and the team set a new world record time when Carmelita Jeter crossed the finish line.
