So personally I was glad to see him leave with the old woman Slow this afternoon. Yep, Slow took Smokey Lonesome Ollie out with her today to ramble around in the woods over by our previous abode affectionately remembered by all of us as Casa de Woodrow in the downtown Rosewood neighborhood. Whoopee. Geez, could it possibly be more boring…Dull and Duller play together every once in a while and they always go to the SAME place and do the SAME walk. Tragic.
Swell – first things first
Smokey Lonesome Ollie
The old gray mare ain’t what he used to be, but then who of us is? The Red Man is, of course.
Having one blue eye and one brown eye is just plain WRONG
I’ve always thought the big guy had a few strikes against him to start with. For one thing, what’s up with those different colored eyes? I swear he makes me nervous when he stares at me sometimes. He can look just like Cujo and I think I’m about to be part of a Stephen King novel. But no such luck. The Red Man is strictly nonfiction.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep…blah, blah, blah
but I have promises to keep…
and miles to go before I sleep.
I think I just made that up. Hmm…was that me or some other famous poet? Heh, heh.
If you didn’t know better, you’d think you were in the forest outside Harry Potter’s school
but then you hear the clicking noises of the skateboarders a few feet away
and see the running track with the night lights for high school track meets…
And you realize you’re right back where you started from and it’s a good thing.
All’s well that ends well and SL Ollie and Slow made it home safely this afternoon. The rest of us had had a little break from the dog who lives on the king-sized bed during the day and the old woman who putters around the house doin’ God know what since we don’t seem to have any RESULTS to show for her daily activities if you ask me and no one has so…
Get me outta here Percy…I’m thinkin’ CHOW time right about now…catch you later, Sports Fans!
P.S. Don’t forget it’s getting close to Christmas and Slow’s newest book I’ll Call It Like I See It: A Lesbian Speaks Out makes a good gift for yourself and/or someone you like a lot. Order today!!
I love that movie, Cujo!!!!!

Cujo Jr. has that same wild scary look in his eyes, but he’s a softie for sure…:)

Whew boy! What is it with these creative types, Red? Ma putters too. All day long. Doesn’t get a blessed thing done, then says I’m keeping her from concentrating on her work. Me!!! Anyway, this blog is about you, and I like the creative license you took with Mr. Frost’s poem. Makes more sense from a doggy point of view. 😀 Gee, do you think poor Ollie is an alien or something? You’re so wise Red Man, and I haven’t seen much of the world yet, but if you think it’s weird…Well, Ollie is dear looking or so Ma says.
Have a good night!

Oh, Poppy Seed, you and I have so much in common, don’t we? Slow and Ma are putterers of the worst sort and like to blame their lack of accomplishments on those without whom they couldn’t survive, that, of course would be The Red Man and Poppy. Our responsibilities are many and our rewards are rarely commensurate. We forge on. As for Ollie, What can I tell you? Slow and Pretty think he’s beautiful, if you can believe that. Let’s just say I find him one-dimensional with three-dimensional eyes. Stay warm up there, Poppy. 🙂
