Well Amigos we find ourselves settling in to life at Casa de Canterbury with Pretty and Tennis Ball Obsessed Chelsea and Spike. Paw Licker Annie appears to have recovered nicely from the arduous thousand-mile trip from Worsham Street and of course The Red Man is nothing if not flexible. Roll with the punches, blah blah blah.
So Many Wires, So Few Results in Slow’s Office
My editor the old woman Slow is running thither and yon since we’ve returned to Casa de Canterbury but frankly I’m not sure she’s accomplishing much. Since I feel compelled to follow her around to make sure she’ doesn’t find herself in harm’s way, I find myself missing my afternoon naps. Bummer.
We have the Tennis Channel in South Carolina, but I’ve been wigged since Rafa Nadal lost in the first round of Wimbledon so I don’t have the heart to watch the prelims for the US Open. At least we can talk SEC football with Gamecock Fans in Columbia who of course think this is their year to win it all since they have the big guy Jadeveon Clowney on their side. It’s kinda like having God playing defense for you. We’ll see if the Gamecocks find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this fall. Stay tuned.
And so Sports Fans, The Red Man hopes you’re enjoying your weekend wherever you are around the world of cyberspace. Remember we’re only a click apart out here and we’re always glad when you give us a click.
Get me outta here Percy…I feel like a Doggie on the Edge…
I know exactly how it feels running thither and yon, Red. Slow must be doing very well and I’m glad you can keep up 😉

Well, you may need to pull for Australia at the moment as they’re looking iffy in the Ashes 😉

Oh Red Man, you simply cannot allow Slow’s activities to get in the way of your afternoon naps. What’s a day without an afternoon nap? Wel,. I wouldn’t know. 🙂 Now about those Gamecock’s . . . I see they’re ranked above my beloved LSU Tigers in the preseason polls. There must be some mistake. 😉

Oh Miss Harper Lee we don’t know how you have time to drop us a note on your black & white Sundays!! But we appreciate your taking the time to remind us that there’s a mistake in the pre-season polls…undoubtedly. We are in the throes of Clowneyisms in Columbia so we can’t be held responsible. 🙂

Greetings Church Organist and all at country hill – had a very busy Sunday with Pretty’s family in the upstate today. Took Spike along for the ride, and he was over it – and us- by the time we got home late this afternoon. Miss you guys…:)

Well Red, as usual Ma is a day late (in this case 2) and a dollar short (more than that – she bought me a new leash), so it’s a bit to late to wish you a good weekend. I’m glad to learn you are settling into your Carolina routine. We hoped you and PL Annie wouldn’t be too exhausted by the long haul. Ma is wondering if the pictures arrived from Texas yet?
Sloppy Poppy Kisses and wishes for a great week with lots of Liver Snaps!

Hello Miss Poppy Seed,
Lucky you to have a new leash – your Ma keeps you outfitted in the latest fashion! The old woman Slow is hopelessly out of date with all of our accessories. Sigh. You can’t have everything. 🙂
No, we haven’t seen the pictures YET – our Worsham Street friend supposedly sent them to Slow on Saturday so we should have them today or tomorrow – depending on whether they are being sent by Pony Express!!
We are glad to hear from you this a.m.!

I think I feel a bit of the Doggie on the Edge in the air myself. Strange howling in the middle of the night…monkeys waving papaya branches at them from their perches…it’s a steep descent into winter here. Good luck with that Nadal character. Sounds like he’s been letting you down some recently.

Gosh, sounds like you are feeling almost murky. When monkeys start waving papaya branches, you know it’s an ill wind. Thanks for the well wishes on Nadal. He’s kinda streaky, which is a first cousin of murky, so we adopt our wait and see attitude.

Streaky…and, Murky…sounds like the start of a new band of the Seven Dwaves. Must get on that…falling behind here in the monsoons.

What’s up with you coyotero2112? Incommunicado. Troubling. Hoping you are ok. We are all murky without you.

Got my residency approval after a year of legal wrangling, which brings up a whole new round of legal gunk with my lawyer, social security, bank accounts, signing up with the socialized medicine system here, etc. And I go out trying to get things done only to find out it’s El Dia de la Madre…which is big here, and everything was closed. So, now I sit down to write something…maybe about people who have been a bit murky themselves….yeah, that’s it.

Sounds like legal mumbo jumbo has run a muck in your life recently. Que lastima. The Red Man sends Paw Snaps and Twirls to Costa Rica and hopes that the murkiness clears sooner rather than later.
