Front porch looks the same
Flag still flying
Face in the Big Tree across Worsham Street still staring
As you can see, Amigos, The Red Man has returned to the “Hood in Texas and is happy to report all is well on Worsham Street. The Little Women are present and accounted for and the Huss Brothers are their usual happy selves and of course going in three different directions at the same time.
Pretty drove the old woman Slow and Spike and moi in our old Dodge Dakota pickup truck from Casa de Canterbury in South Carolina the thousand miles to Texas and I don’t mind to tell you I was glad to be out of those close quarters and on terra firma, if you catch my drift.
And speaking of drift, I have a whiff of the winds of change blowing through our lives lately. I’m not sure what’s up, but whatever it is involves a ton of cardboard boxes and a flurry of activity to fill them with our worldly possessions in our house on Worsham and that’s a sign I’ve seen before.
Get me outta here Percy – I’m a Dog on the Edge tonight. C-H-A-N-G-E is a four-letter word to me.
I could see myself relaxing there. What a beautiful home!

I have never experienced a move, well except from the cow shed where I was born to Ma’s so called “palace.” There was a box, but it was plastic and had bars on it. I’d rather keep that memory suppressed.
Ma thinks Slow and Pretty might be stressed too. Let me give you some advice, if you don’t mind: Jump in those cardboard boxes, roll around in them, pull the lids off and generally make a nuisance of yourself. The “girls” need a little levity in their lives, and you’re just the man to provide it! 😀
Love,
Your Poppy and Cassie Potatoes

Dearest Poppy and Cassie Potatoes,
Of course, leave it to my favorite girls in the world to come up with a clever idea of a much better use of these ridiculous boxes which appear to be multiplying even as we speak! Geez Louise. Pretty and Slow are chasing themselves around like a chicken with its head cut off and Spike is so totally wigged he just slinks from one “safe” place to another. This is his first rodeo in the moving department so he’s useless.
I don’t blame you for suppressing your move memory – Poor Poppy. I try to forget my days at the Lexington County Animal Shelter, too. Some things are just better left alone.
Well, Pretty flew home to SC this week since she had to be back at work. We are left with Slow who is a dreadful Commandant. We look forward to the swift return of Pretty who can whip things into shape in a flash.
Hope you all are staying warm and beginning to thaw out up there.
Your main squeeze,
The Red Man
