Palm trees and coconuts, ocean beaches and swimming pools, margaritas and tequila tastings, coffee beans, chalupas – sounds like they won an Ellen trip to a tropical paradise. The old woman Slow and Pretty have been back for one day and The Red Man is already weary of the Vallarta Vacation Versions. Frankly, my dear, etc.

Seriously, Pretty – you are gone for a week and The Red Man discovers you have another Pup in your life? Tucker, you say? Tucker, ugh. What a ridiculous name for a beagle.

At any rate, Amigos, at least the lesbians made it home in one piece. Missing one cell phone which Slow lost on the first day of the trip when she left it in the taxi going to the condo from the airport but she bought a new one today so all’s well that ends well, as The Red Man is fond of saying.
Thankfully, our babysitters were spectacular. We had a platoon of caretakers this trip, and they kept us well-fed and entertained. I must send Paw Snaps and Twirls to the Girls who came to Casa de Canterbury and helped us get through an uncertain time. The Red Man and Tennis Ball Obsessed Chelsea and Spike love a routine and we all experience separation anxiety when Pretty and Slow aren’t around. Not that they are all that, but when they are all you’ve got, you learn to overlook the little things like where are my treats from Mexico.

Thanks, favorite Australian Author Dianne Gray!! Yes, Puerto Vallarta has a kind of “tourista” police that tries to be a kinder, gentler law enforcement – very smart, I think. As for this particular officer, let’s just say she was the only thing hotter than the weather…:)

Well, well, well! Isn’t interesting how the peeps slip away for a little R&R, leaving the faithful behind to uncertain treat distribution. Then they cheat on you. Oh yes, within hours of arriving in lovely Puerto Vallarta, the ladies find not one dog, not two dogs, but it looks like dozens of dogs to take your place. GEEZ!!! Why did they go away?! Could’ve bought a couple of coconuts at the grocery and saved themselves a cell phone. Ah, well… There’s no understanding humans. Anyway, Ma enjoyed the photos. Thinks the place looks heavenly and is glad Slow and Pretty enjoyed the trip and got relax with old friends.

As always, Miss Poppy Seed, you hit the nail on the head with The Red Man’s perception of how fickle the Peeps can be – and now they’ve taken it to an international level! One country isn’t BIG enough for their shenanigans so off they go to a tropical paradise. Hrmph. All I can say is the loss of a cell phone wasn’t quite as severe a punishment as they deserve, but it’s a start.
Actually, the Replacement Peeps were more generous in the treat distribution, so I will give you their numbers if you need to hire them. 🙂

I don’t know, Red. Ma said she’s trading us in for horses. Zeus’ vet bill for a farm visit and 5 vaccines was 50% less than one of us going to the vet for an annual plus 3 boosters. Of course she said it with a big grin on her face, so I think we are safe. Stupid horse getting all that attention…. Grrr!!
