Must not request time off for doctors appointments to include general practitioners, orthopedists, optometrists, dermatologists, dentists and doctors express (particularly in the same week). Must not request personal days for mini-vacations to Tennessee. Must be punctual and in happy frame of mind whenever working. No watching any of the Four Major Tennis Slams on TV will be permitted during working hours. No complaining about assignments will be tolerated. No whining about overtime, either. Do not apply if you are over 40 years of age and/or take more than 20 pills per day including vitamins. Salary negotiable. Remember: old people should not apply.

Well, Ma certainly won’t be applying. Not only has she aged out, not only does she take at least 40 pills including a frightening array of vitamins, not only does she go to 3 and 4 doctors plus blood tests during the course of 1 week, but she slips off for a couple of hours every day to whisper sweet nothings into that damn red horse’s big, old, hairy ears!!!
Oh, wait. She just slipped me a little ice cream. What was I saying?

Oh, Miss Poppy Seed, please discourage your Ma from applying…sounds like she reminds me too much of the old woman Slow minus a horse so we definitely don’t need that extra set of problems!!

I missed writing this to say I don’t wish for things to change. I am content with how Casa de Canterbury runs things and puts out their excellent posts. Of course, as a past single mom I can say, “Shape up, or ship out!”
Hope the family ” braved through the night” and really enjoyed their holiday 😉
