Well Amigos, the saying goes into each life a little rain must fall, but nobody said anything about it falling every day for weeks. Did they?
The song goes though April showers may come your way, they bring the flowers that bloom in May. Nobody said anything about October showers…or floods, did they?
Though October showers may come your way, they bring the mosquitoes, mildew and mud puddles that bloom in November. Heh, heh. My little joke for the soggy morning.
Since The Red Man has been confined to quarters, he has had to entertain himself with his own thoughts which have led to philosophical flashes of brilliant insights. The Red Man’s Theory of Everything is the result of those flashes.
Hm. As in most theories dreamed up by great minds, they are rarely original. Alas, I can’t really claim to have thought up my Theory on my own. As a matter of fact, I draw my inspiration from that other great Philosopher, Granny Selma, when she was in her right mind.
Here’s what she used to say: When it rains, you have to smile more to make your own sunshine.
Now Granny Selma probably meant this in a literal sense, but The Red Man now interprets this both literally and figuratively as his Theory of Everything.
Think about it. There are worse theories floating around out there in cyberspace.
Get me outta here, Percy…time for lunch and a sneak peek at The Weather Channel.
Hi Red Man! We feel your rain pain here in the Big Easy. We’re headed into our fourth straight rainy weekend.

Oops. Hit send to soon. My paws are huge and clumsy. 🙂 As I was saying. We’re hoping our Tigers smile on us and bring a little sunshine in the form of a football victory over Bama! Wishing out sunny skies!

There is no rain where I am at the moment, but a huge one is heading our way. Make hay while the sun shines, as they say 😉

Indeed, favorite Australian Author Dianne Gray…make hay now…today while you have the sun!! Hope the RUC stays safe in the huge rains…

Nobody has a sharper mind than Red. But I’m sure he’s going stir crazy in the rain.

The Red Man would totally agree with you about his mind and he’s weary of the rain, but if you think he’s bad, you should see Pretty. She’s fit to be tied. 🙂

Champing at the bit as my mom always said to me.

Very pithy, Red Man. My aunt, Aunt Sister (when she was in her right mind), would say “Rain just makes me pissy as all hell.” But she had not been confined to quarters (except for those short stints in the jailhouse) so had had little time to develop a more profound philosophy on so many fronts. She didn’t like cold fronts worth a damn, either! Crunchy dog bones and a warm bed to you, my friend – you have earned them well!

Slow had an aunt named Aunt Sister, too, and we all wondered if she was EVER in her right mind! 🙂
We are all pissy as all hell at Casa de Canterbury this week…luckily, we have a friend visiting this weekend…we hope she brought dry weather with her!
Thanks so much for the good wishes – we appreciate them and send Paw Snaps and Twirls to you for a wonderful weekend!!

Oh my, forgot that some areas have mosquitos still!! 😦 😦 Not so great if they get near you or stagnant water either. I like the sunshine quote by Grandma. I do believe we have amazing powers in many ways, as people and of course, dogs do, too. ♡♡♡ Hope Red and his co-host find ways to stay sane during rain and Safe, too. Hugs!!

Pouring rain still – wish Granny Selma was still around to talk to sometimes…occasionally she came up with something memorable!! 🙂

My Grandma,on one side told me, “Pretty is, as Pretty does.” It took me a long time to fully understand that quaint saying. I bet your Pretty knew it early in life. 🙂
My other Grandma liked to say, “Easy come, easy goes.” She was married to a gambler but when I was young I thought it meant life was “easy” but it WAS when I was a kid! 🙂 Now, I realize things have no guarantees. Hope your company breaks up the streak of rain and the mood improves, too. ♡

Thanks so much – our company improved the mood at Casa de Canterbury immensely over the weekend. TBO Chelsea was particularly happy to have an old friend in the house!
The rain finally stopped yesterday, and everyone was thrilled to see the sun again…all in all…a much better week!!
Yes, “easy” was a word I’d use to describe my life when I was young, too. To this day, I miss the innocence and hope that little girl had. 🙂

Gros bisous

Bonjour Bernard,
That is pretty much the end of my French, but I think you were talking to me about flowers and gardens and wishes for a good journey – I hope that is close to it anyway. If so, thank you very much. We appreciate sweet sentiments from anywhere in the world. I have signed up on your blog – you have beautiful pictures and I will try to understand what I can. Bless your heart.
