Thanks so much, Ann. This was the last of my dad’s immediate family and I have always been very close to her, as you can tell from the dedication of my latest book. She was so excited about the book, and it was fun to have her on the cover. I adored her. The funeral is tomorrow and we will bury her next to my grandparents at Fairview Cemetery which I describe in I’ll Call It. I appreciate your hugs.

Thanks so very much, animalcouriers. It’s really remarkable to have so many friends send their hugs in cyberspace, as The Red Man would say. She was a very special woman and truly amazing. She loved to read and read all the latest fiction bestsellers but managed to be proud of my nonfiction works. I loved having her on the cover of my latest book I’ll Call It Like I See It and am so glad she lived to read it.

Thank you very much angelswhisper. We are trying to keep our courage in this truly difficult loss. My aunt was a part of my life since I was born and in addition to being my adored aunt, she was also a close friend and supported me in my life long before the days of Will and Grace began the stirrings of acceptance and tolerance for my sexual orientation. A remarkable woman I will surely miss for the rest of my life.

Dennis, you know this is the last of this generation of our close family. Mildred, Selma, Lucille, Mavis, – what a rich history of strong women who loved us and became role models for us as they accepted the challenges in their lives and carried on. I would wish we could honor their memory with the lives that we lead. Truly remarkable.

Thank you so much, Dianne from your home in Australia! My aunt would have loved your books – she was an avid fiction reader! The only reason she read my nonfiction works was that she loved me too much not to. I will miss her tremendously because she was a close dear friend who never seemed to age. I have been lucky to spend more time with her during the past three years than I did in the previous forty. You can go home again and may even have an opportunity to make up for some of your sins of omission.
