Well, well, well. The Red Man sniffs creativity in the air. Apparently we are trying a new techno gimmick today instead of my usual biting rants and raves. Biting? Get it. My little joke for a Sunday morning. I know, I know, but it’s very early on the East Coast of the USA.

living the good life together
I hate to say it, but I really miss the Big Guy with his one blue eye and one brown eye. He wasn’t the brightest bulb but hey, he had a few good qualities, and we can’t all be perfect.
We made a good team. I had the brains, and he had…hm…okay so he was the Sweet One, according to Pretty.
Get me outta here Percy…he’s been gone a year now, but I still miss him.

What a cute photo. My mom says she loves your header, it makes her feel like she is visiting Gilligan’s Island, whatever that is.

Hahaha – yes, your mom is right – I do see Gilligan’s Island now, too! Thanks for “hopping” over!

Aw, good memories, though.
We have some cat worries over here. My oldest cat Mac has had a heart problem for years, but now he has diabetes. And he has a very particular personality. He won’t want to be stuck all the time for blood and insulin. Not at all. And he has big teeth and muscles.

I’m so sorry for your worries with Mac, Luanne. Gosh, when they get older and sicker, it really becomes nursing home care for them and so very difficult to make decisions about their health. I think we just do the best we can and try to decide what they would want to have done to them – and for them – if they could tell us. Sometimes they do let us know. Maybe Mac will tell you in his own way. I will be thinking about you. Please keep me posted.

We were all thinking about Ollie. Hard to believe a year has passed so quickly. He’s as wonderful as ever and will stay that way in your memories.

Ann,
It is so hard to believe it’s been a year since we’ve lost Ollie and Annie. T and I miss them every day.
Your painting hangs next to the front door so that anyone visiting sees it when they come in and again as they leave. Just last week one of our friends said how much she loved it when she was walking out – we told her she had no idea what it meant to us.
Thank you so very much,
Sheila

It makes me happy that those little paintings keep Annie and Ollie close to you. There are days, well over 2 years now, that I miss my old Madam Lasagna with an intensity like the first few days. She was such a companion, such a good friend, sleeping close by as I painted. You really miss them terribly. I’m very much touched that you have placed those paintings in a place of honor in your home. I hope they continue conjure happy memories.
Hugs to you both,
Ann

Ann,
Did I tell you I had a marker made for T and me at the little Fair View cemetery in Texas? I took care of it before we left Texas in March, and it was delivered this summer. One of my best friends there took pictures and sent to me. I will try to locate and send to you on an email. Anyway, there are matching headstones for T and me with the names of our dogs engraved on a small headstone between: Sassy (my Westie for 18 years), Annie, Ollie and Red. I LOVE it because we will have their ashes buried with ours. Isn’t that neat?
I simply can’t bear their loss, and I totally understand your sorrow for Madam Lasagna. As I recall, that was when you first started blogging when Poppy was a new addition??
P.S. T has already fussed at me about not adding Chelsea and Spike’s names and I told her I might not be here when they are gone. She is threatening to go out with a Magic Marker and add them herself!! 🙂 The girl is a handful.

Love, love, love this photo . . . and I cannot believe that we missed your first blog hop. My human mommy’s mommy (my gran) was visiting from the great state of Texas, so I was extremely busy being the hostess with the mostest, which mostly meant waking up really, really early so I could go to my gran’s room to wake her up. 🙂 Hope to see your handsome face in black and white this Sunday. I’m going to light a fire under my mommy so she can enter the hop. 🙂

Yes, all of us at Casa de Canterbury were hoping to see Miss Harper Lee in black and white because she always looks so gorgeous, but we all understand how it is to have a gran visiting from Texas!! The grans can be fun to have – but sometimes they are needy, too!! 🙂 We will try again Sunday…light a fire under that mommy of yours…
